The post holder will have a major contribution to make on the development and

growth of Bristol Care group, ensuring that the children’s home align with the

strategic objectives of the company.
- Act as Ofsted responsible individual for the Bristol Care Group home, ensuring our

service is fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- To line manage the Registered Manager providing support and supervision
- The Responsible individual will work with the Registered Manager to ensure the

service is safe, well managed and complies with regulation.
- To ensure high quality care that is consistent with Bristol Care Group’s ethos and

is delivered across the children’s homes in line with government guidance,

regulations and standards as well as the policies and procedures of Bristol Care

Group.
- Conduct internal audits and quality checks of policies and procedures as well

service regulations. Audits will be scheduled and consistently delivered to ensure

the home complies with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Ensuring the home has a clear development plan and good quality analysis,

planning and risk assessments is evident throughout the home.
- Ensure the Registered Manager maintains accurate and full records of all

interventions with young people in line with safeguarding and data protection

requirements.

Main Responsibilities
- To provide effective leadership by promoting understanding of the highest

standards of practice which reflect current innovative thinking and evidenced

based interventions in working with children.
- Deliver a quality focussed service for excellent outcomes.
- The Responsible Individual will provide management support and professional

supervision to the Registered Manager; meeting on a regular basis to provide both

formal and informal supervision to ensure the home is safe, well managed and

complies with regulations.
- They will ensure the policies and procedures are kept up to date, regularly

monitored and consistent with the homes statement of purpose, relevant

legislation and national guidance.
- The responsible individual will ensure the service is responsive and proactive in

identifying and mitigating risks whilst supporting positive risk taking and

independence.
- The Responsible Individual will be the designated lead, alongside the Registered

Manager, for managing safeguarding.
- The responsible individual will be the designated Dats Protection Officer.
- Support the Registered Manager in preparation for Ofsted registration, Inspections

and subsequent action planning.
- Support the Registered Manager with the service delivery plan which includes any

actions arising from Ofsted Inspections. Act on and /or delegating any actions or

recommendations from any reviews and ensure all outcomes are completed.
- To review Audit and quality check records in line with the children’s homes

regulations and quality standards (2015). Developing actions plans to drive quality

and ensuring continuing development of the home.
- Maintaining high standards of practice, always working in the best interest of

children and young people.
- Ensuring the well-being of young people and staff through health and safety

compliance.
- To ensure that young people’s needs are met through a string emphasis on

communication and participation.
- To participate in meetings and training events as required by line managers and

Directors.
- To ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To liaise on behalf of the home and/or support the Registered Manager to liaise

with Ofsted and other relevant bodies regarding notification of significant events

under regulatory requirements. Ensuring the prompt action and distribution of

records and in relation to accidents, incidents and notifiable events to relevant

parties.
- To investigate, manage and monitor incidents and complaints.
- To provide out of hours support to the manager as required.
- Take personal responsibility for keeping up to date with research, legislation,

policies and procedures as well continuous professional development.

general policies and codes of practice.
