**Job description**

**Northlands Care Home in Blairgowrie is a privately owned independent care home for older people providing specialist care for dementia and nursing care.**

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Assistant to the Activities Co-ordinator to help improve the health and wellbeing of our residents.

**Activities Co-ordinator**

£11.00 an hour, Permanent

**REPORTING TO**: Manager

**JOB PURPOSE**: To help plan and implement activities appropriate to our residents’ needs and requests. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join us at Northlands care home as an Activity Co-ordinator where you will help to provide our planned activities programme for our residents.

This is a very hands-on role which involves helping to provide stimulation and interaction for residents through meaningful activities using group work & one to one support, as well as building good relationships with our residents and their relatives.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Team player

Ability to work on own initiative

Friendly creative and confident

Genuine interest in working with elderly people and those with dementia and /or enduring mental health needs.

Satisfactory check against the relevant registers within the PVG Scheme

**Desired**:
Previous experience of working within a care environment

Flexible approach towards working routines, some weekend work would be required

**Main Responsibilities**:
1. Help residents to socialise within the care home and provide a variety of activities that cater for all tastes

2. Where possible, enhance communication and understanding for residents

3. Help to create an atmosphere that enables the wellbeing of residents

4. Help maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documentation.

**Job Types**: 30 Hours per Week (over 4 days), Permanent

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
