We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to work in our adult autism diagnosis service. The role will involve assessing and delivering autism diagnosis to adults who reside in Tameside and Glossop.

You will be working within our existing ASD assessment team. Applicants should have a diploma/degree in relevant health/social care field of practice and be qualified to carry out ADOS assessments. Applicants should have experience of working with people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

To take the lead in providing specialist autism assessments of adults referred to the service based upon the appropriate use of developmental history, supporters information and any other relevant reports/assessments.

To provide ADOS and on occasions DISCO assessments in line with NICE guidelines.

To carry out post diagnosis follow up appointments with people after their assessments.

To take a lead alongside the service manager in the continuing development of the Autism Diagnostic pathway in Tameside and Glossop.

We are a local Autism diagnostic service and community learning disability team based in Hollingworth Clinic in Hollingworth. We provide Autism diagnosis and specialist health support for adults and children with a learning disability whose needs cannot be met by main stream services.

- To provide clinical leadership within the Autism Diagnostic Team.
- To have supervisory responsibility for assistants, co-workers and students working within the team.
- To take the lead role in triaging incoming referrals and prioritising according to need.
- To provide a highly specialist assessment and diagnosis within the Autism Diagnostic Team. The post holder will be an expert in their field.
- To work with the team manager to have strategic oversight and the development of the autism diagnostic pathway. To liaise with a wide range of professional and external agencies to ensure efficient, high-quality patient/client care and to contribute to multi-disciplinary policies and protocols.
- To support team members in specialist areas of work, and to be actively involved in a range of service developments.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development
