**About the role**:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to support a young man with a brain injury in the Waterhouses, County Durham area.
You will support him with daily activities, his rehabilitation programme and work alongside his team to increase his independence, both at home and in the community. No personal care is required, only prompts. Training and supervision will be given. The post-holder will be required to work on a lone basis but with full support of the team. Accrued holiday is paid on a pro-rata basis.
This post involves flexible shifts include early mornings, evenings, weekend shifts and sleep-in duties. Example shifts include 4pm until midnight, with sleep in, early shifts from 7.30-10am, and weekends from 10am-10pm, including sleep in. Since the client is working towards increased independence, some parts of shifts are carried out remotely, with telephone contact only.
Employees need a proficient understanding and spoken capacity of the English language - GOR applies
**About you**:
**Essential**
- you are reliable and professional - you value honesty and discretion
- you are friendly and approachable
- you are flexible and you work well under pressure with a calm demeanour
- you have a full, clean manual UK driving licence and be able to commute to a rural location
- you will need to be able to accommodate the needs of the client’s dog and work alongside him
- you will be able to maintain clear written records
- You will be able to follow specific instructions and strategies, working as part of a larger team
**Preferred**
- you have experience of supporting someone with a brain injury
- you have your own car that you can use for work purposes as the client lives in a rural location

Qualified staff assess clients’ needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have four offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 clients nationally.

**Salary**: £10.50-£11.55 per hour
