It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021. The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

We currently have a vacancy for a **Payroll & Pensions Officer** to join our** Finance **team.

**The Role**:
Reporting into **Payroll and Pensions Manager** your key responsibilities will include:

- The management and accurate / timely calculation of monthly payroll and ensuring compliance with internal policy and statutory regulations.
- The accurate and timely completion of compliant / statutory returns to HMRC, Pension Authority, other bodies and providing accurate / timely Payroll & Pension Management Information.
- The provision of professional guidance and investigate / resolve problems and enquiries, in a confidential manner, from internal and external stakeholders.

**About You**:
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

- Educated to A level or equivalent relevant education/ experience.
- Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
- Strong working understanding, knowledge and experience of payroll, HMRC and Local Government pension regulations.
- Demonstrable deep understanding of payroll & pension matters within a Local Authority environment.
- Strong and in depth understanding and experience of financial controls and procedures including management of debtors, creditors, cash and banking.
- In depth expertise across the payroll and finance function with the ability to identify, manage and resolve any complex concerns / problems.
