**Quality Inspector role**:
- Inspection of incoming parts to component drawing and quality standards.
- Carrying out dimension checks on key components as required.
- Raising of defect reports and liaising with the supplier to deliver corrective actions.
- Ensuring stock sweeps are conducted in support of the production build.
- Checking stocked parts as an ongoing supplier improvement and as per control plan.
- Liaise with key suppliers to ensure rework is performed to standard.
- Work with structure supplier to ensure supplied parts meet specification.
- Supporting the data capture of defective parts to support the generation of KPI’s.
**Quality Inspector duties and responsibilities**:
- Check on a daily basis all aspects of receipted parts for conformity and defects.
- Action process for all defects through RR process and be the first point of contact for production.
- Liaise with engineering as and when required on technical information for confirmation of specification and conformity.
- Work and liaise with production for in stage demands focussing on requirements for build, Qty’s, colours and correct design.
- Carry out problem solving activities to support RR/QIR process and supplier improvements.
- Check critical identified parts in production in line with VOI information and issue VIN numbers to structures.
**Quality Inspector skills & experience required**:
- Experience working as a Quality Inspector or similar.
- Experience working within the Automotive industry or a production environment.
- Experience with welding and fabrication inspection
- Ability to interpret technical drawings / information to identify critical dimensions.
- Good problem-solving skills with logical approach.
- Ideally have good product knowledge with production manufacturing methods and knowledge of vehicle assembly sequence/process.
- Ability to use handheld measuring tools and be able to cross check results back to technical drawings or CAD.
- Must be able to liaise with suppliers and build relationships to support the closure of issues efficiently and without conflict.
