**Contract**:Full time / Permanent / Min of 40 hours per week

**Working Hours**:Mon - Fri (2x shift patterns between the hours of 6.00am-7.00pm) Alternate Saturdays between the hours of 7.00am and 1.00pm.

As Trainee Planner and Weighbridge Operator, you will progress through a customised training plan, being mentored by experienced members of our team. You will be given the opportunity to learn new skills with the aim of successfully integrating into the business as a Permanent Planner and Weighbridge Operator following a successful nine month probationary period.

**Purpose of the Job**

You will provide support to the wider Transport Management Team, to assist in the provision of an efficient and reliable service to our customers throughout the development programme, and beyond. You will contribute to, and be responsible for, ensuring that transport operations run smoothy and legally.

Your role will continue to evolve as you develop your skills and knowledge, and will include the following responsibilities, as and when appropriate:
**Roles and Responsibilities**

**Planning**
- Coordinate route schedules/reschedules, pre-brief, dispatch and de-brief drivers and forward plan to ensure coverage at all times
- Become familiar with all routes to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction with the company’s service level agreements
- Monitor routes and resolve any driver / customer queries in order to optimise efficiency
- Comply with health and safety standards, monitor compliance, and report vehicle defects to help reduce vehicle failings and support high levels of customer service

**Weighbridge Operation**
- Weigh all traffic in and out of the depot
- Ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately
- Carry out required checks and procedures on outgoing loads
- Issue weighbridge tickets
- Answer phone enquiries

**General**
- Attendance and participation in daily/weekly briefings and handovers, ensuring any issues or points of action are communicated effectively
- Participate in personal development activities, as required
- Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role and carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the company

**Essential Criteria**
- Good geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to work well with others
- Able to plan and prioritise effectively with excellent organisational skills
- Flexible approach to working hours including weekends (_rota basis_) and Bank Holidays
- Must have a valid UK Driving Licence and relevant business insurance as this role may involve travel around all the depots throughout the RiverRidge group

**Desirable criteria**
- Knowledge of transport operations
- Previous experience in an administration role
