These roles are at the heart of the operation of our centres, ensuring we deliver excellent services to our customers each and every day. Your role will consist of supervising adults, children and organised groups in the use of the climbing centre during clip & climb sessions.
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager of the centre, you will need a “can do” approach and a willingness to learn and mature on the job.

Main Purpose

Duties and responsibilities
- To monitor and enforce Halo Heights safety practices.
- Undertake general public classes in a safe and professional manner.
- To maintain excellent working relationships with schools, businesses and the public
- To give advice to customers as requested on all matters relating to climbing wall.
- To ensure that all necessary equipment is fit for purpose (harnesses, ropes etc.)
- To ensure suitable standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times both in the climbing area and storage areas for equipment.
- To ensure that health and safety procedures are in adhered to.
- Ensure all users follow strict climbing wall etiquette.
- To work with the General Manager on marketing options for the facility.
- Make regular checks to the wall and equipment to ensure that it is safe to use. Report any faults immediately according to protocol.
- To ensure that the needs of young people of all abilities, including young people with disabilities, are taken into account by the programme and that all activities are fully inclusive.
- To ensure the effective implementation of all Halo policies and procedures including NGB specific guidelines and requirements.
- To actively promote the Halo Heights and Halo Sports Stars program, through the distribution of scheme information, timetables, events and services available, and by sharing good news stories, good practice and case studies.
- To undertake the Health and Safety responsibilities which fall within the role and the personal Health and Safety responsibilities within the HASAWA 1974.
- To assist in the development of initiatives, e.g. Investors in People;
- Performance Management and Appraisal; Continuous Professional Development, etc.
- To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with Equal Opportunities.
Desirable:
- Health and Safety matters with regard to staff and the general public.
- Ability to speak Welsh (Welsh centres only).
- Experience with climbing programmes
