Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior Post CCT) in Head & Neck Surgery, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery within ENT from 02 October 2024 to 30 September 2025.

Main duties of the job

The duties of this post include management of Benign and Malignant Head and Neck Pathology under the supervision of four Surgeons. Cambridge University Hospitals is a regional and tertiary referral centre and runs a busy Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Unit. All aspects of Head and Neck surgery are performed in the Unit and there is close collaboration with the Neurosurgical team for the management of craniofacial pathology.

In order to be considered applicants must be senior trainees, either Post CCT or in the final years of training. Applicants will be expected to have had basic training in Head & Neck Surgery. Other essential criteria include FRCS (ORL) and evidence of participation in research.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful post holder will gain considerable experience in management of Surgical Thyroid and Parathyroid Disease as all these procedures are performed by the ENT Department. The Unit runs an active research programme and the Fellow will be invited to participate in this. The Fellow will be expected to take part in the Middle Grade on-call rota.
