**The Role**:
We are looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join the Catering Team at University Hospital Wishaw

The Catering Assistant will work as part of the catering team, to deliver a range of food and beverages, in line with Food Hygiene legislation and NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures, to meet the nutritional needs of Patients, Staff, and users of NHS Lanarkshire services.

**Contract type**:
Permanent Post / 2x Part time / Band 2
- 1x post - 7.9 hours (16.00 / 20.00)
- 1x post - 19.8 hours (10.15 / 14.15) or 16.00 / 20.00)

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Knowledge of catering standards and related procedures.
- Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked), to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
- Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
- Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence of Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and level 2, if identified following an appropriate risk assessment
- Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
- Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
- Undertake and complete NHSS Catering Services Workbook.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Required to obtain the Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
