**ESH Advisor - 6-9 month FTC**

The purpose of this role is to provide ESH support and advice to ensure compliance with statutory and other requirements and to identify opportunities that support continual improvement of the ESH Management System. To lead by example in enthusing and influencing others in the implementation of the ESH management System. To lead or facilitate actions and initiatives to help achieve targets and objectives and in meeting stakeholder satisfaction goals and the company's overall corporate strategy.

**Main tasks and responsibilities**
- Provision of QESH support and advice for Birmingham with outreach support for Ipswich.
- Maintenance of an integrated management system and associated documentation within the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Promote and coach others in the implementation of the ESH Management System by personal example and leadership.
- Ensure that Safe Systems of Work are developed and implemented for all activities, through risk assessment and operating procedures.
- Plan and support the completion of suitable and sufficient risk assessments.
- Manage the local audit and inspection program to ensure effectiveness and compliance to the ESH Management System.
- Carry out regular site inspections to ensure ESH requirements are implemented.
- Planning and co-ordinating external and customer audits.
- Establish and maintain an effective system for identifying, reporting and implementation of corrective actions resulting from system non-conformance, investigations, statutory examinations or other inspection requirements.
- Monitor and support the site in driving annual ESH related objectives and KPI's
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the UK ESH management system through the sharing of local best practice and lessons learnt.
- Ensure ESH Industrial Hygiene monitoring activities such as HAV measurement and assessments and noise monitoring are completed.
- Development and implementation of the site health surveillance program.
- Compliance with the requirements of environmental permits and licenses.

**Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required**
- NEBOSH National General Certificate
- Membership of relevant bodies (IQA/IEMA/IOSH)
- Relevant experience within a ESH role in a medium sized manufacturing organisation
- Knowledge of UK/European ESH standards/legislation
- Contractor management experience
- General computer skills
