A rare opportunity has arisen for our Client who are based in Workington who are looking to recruit a full time, permanent Quality Specialist to work as part of the QA Team.

**Key duties**

The Quality Specialist will work as part of the team ensuring the calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment and consistency of analytical results ensuring repeatability and reproducibility. Undertaking laboratory work for routine and trial productions.

Co-ordinating the site KMS process from raising complaints with suppliers through to completion, managing customer complaints and analysing this data to identify and address key opportunities for improvements.

Leading quality improvement initiatives with operational teams using DMAIC methodologies. Provide timely and accurate updates on internal and external quality performance either to the site team or a wider audience as required.
- Supporting with data analysis and presentation.
- Provide support with the product safety system and internal and external audits.
- Support for operational improvement in areas related to quality, hygiene, or audit standards.
- Create/manage trial testing plans for validation and acceptance of new products.
- Trial support - e.g., creation and follow through of routine and validation testing plans, ensuring results are accurate and are produced from well-maintained equipment.
- Managing compliance processes for analytical work and external standards
- Carry out or source calibration of lab equipment, maintaining clear records and visible indication of calibration status for each asset.
- Approved supplier list maintenance.
- Internal auditing of site systems.
- Customer support
- Preparation of customer specifications or other documentation.
- KMS complaints co-ordination.
- Assist with the processing of non-conforming material, e.g., customer returns and internal holds.

**Experience Required**
- Substantive industrial experience of working in a Quality function or environment with associated analytical and Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Good understanding of business processes
- Advanced IT skills using MS Office particularly Excel and SAP.
- Good communication skills - excellent written and oral presentation skills.
