Coach Developer and Cpd Coordinator
**Coach Developer and CDP Co-ordinator**
**Salary: £27,000 - 30,000 per annum**
**Full Time: 35 hours per week**
**Location: Hamble (hybrid working) or Home working**
We are looking for a person who has the experience and ability to work **both** as a coach developer within the RYA Coach Development Programme **and** can take the lead on co-ordinating all the necessary resources and logistics needed to run the various CPD parts of our programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a dynamic role and to take the lead on interesting projects related to coaching, learning and development.
**Coach Developer**:
The Coach Developer part of the role is flexible and can be tailored to suit the individual’s skill set and experience. If you haven’t done any coach development work yet, then that’s okay. These are all skills we can support you to learn. The important elements are that you are keen to learn and interested in coach development.
Below are examples of the type of coach development work you could undertake:
- Working with coaches out in the field to support their coaching practice
- Running coaching workshops or courses
- Facilitating CPD events such as practical CPD or conferences
- Working with coaches to create, action and review individual development plans
- Facilitating sense-making sessions with groups of coaches
You wouldn’t be expected to do all the above. But we would be keen to explore which parts you might be interested in doing and where we could support your development to grow into more of these ways of working.
We have several interesting objectives that you might want to contribute towards or even take the lead on. These objectives fall into the following areas:
- Increasing the number of female coaches
- Developing our understanding of and ability to create positive coach-athlete relationships
- Growing our appreciation of and ability to implement appropriate developmental experiences for athletes from junior through to Olympic sailing
We are not looking for you to be an expert in all these areas. But if one of them is of particular interest then we would like to discuss how you might be able to contribute towards achieving these objectives and how we can support your development to increase your understanding of the area(s).
**CPD Co-ordinator**:
The CPD Co-ordinator part of the role requires someone who has attention to detail and is good at project planning with multiple stakeholders. A working knowledge of project management tools and budgeting would be desirable.
Over the year we run many different CPD experiences for coaches. The actual delivery is often done by a member of the coach development team, most of which are contractors. But these events wouldn’t be successful unless we had member of staff working hard to make sure all the resources and logistics are in place. This includes tasks like:
- Moving and launching RIBs
- Booking boats and venues
- Arranging accommodation and catering for large groups
- Keeping track of costs
- Dealing with invoicing
- Washing up
Don’t worry if you haven’t got lots of experience of doing things like this yet. We have a very experienced team who are great at supporting and mucking in to get the job done. It’s very much a team effort to run these events. The key part is your mindset. We need someone who notices details, seeks high standards, is calm under pressure and deals well with problems and change.
In return for your work, you’ll receive a range of benefits including:
- 36 days holiday including public holidays pro rata
- Your Birthday Day off
- 10% RYA contribution to a Personal Pension Scheme
- Volunteering days
- Free charging point for electric vehicles whilst on your working days at the office
- Free Life Insurance
- Discounts platform for retail, entertainment, holidays & gym membership
- Social Events
- RYA Membership
.just to name a few.
**Who we’re looking for**:
- A team player who is also a self-starter and able to use their own initiative.
- The ability to prioritise your own workload and manage time effectively without supervision.
- Someone with a flexible and adaptable approach to their work.
**What do you need**:
- Experience organising events.
- Racing and coaching pedagogical knowledge.
- Experience coaching & racing in sailing is desirable but not essential.
The RYA is committed to equality of opportunity.
As an equal opportunity and disability confident employer, we celebrate and welcome diversity in all its forms and believes that a diverse workforce boosts innovation, productivity, and creativity.
**Interviews to be held: 22nd April**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
**Benefits**:
- Company pension
- Cycle to work scheme
- Employee discount
- Free parking
- Life insurance
- On-site parking
- Paid volunteer time
- Sick pay
- Work from home
