Yard Operative

**General Operative required for a busy steel yard Located at Shoreham Port**

The role can be physically demanding with time spent out in all weathers.

Previous experience of working outside, with heavy plant would be advantageous.

**Working Hours.**

Monday - Friday with weekend working when required to meet customer demand.

Flexibility is key due to the nature of the business, with some long days required at short notice from 06.00-19.00 on occasions.

**Key Duties**:

- Ensure all Health and Safety legislation requirements are met and followed.
- All duties are carried out in a safe, efficient, and professional manner whilst
working in a small team.
- Keeping the site clean and tidy.

Moving stock, and assisting in the loading of HGVs
- Ability to identify potential risks and hazards, and be aware of the surrounding
environment.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (appropriate PPE will be provided)

£ 12.00 ph rising to £13.00ph on completion of successful requested training.

**Schedule**:

- 8 - 10 hour shift ( Additional hours may be required at short notice )
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability when required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 weeks

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
