**Veterinary Receptionist Job Description**
- Greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly manner
- Scheduling appointments using our designated Practice Management Software
- Informing the Vet on call of any emergencies that require urgent attention
- Issuing invoices for treatment and prescribed medication after each consultation
- Receiving and verifying payments after each consultation
- Informing the Vet on call about possible instances of animal abuse or neglect
- Monitoring the inventory of items for sale by the practice and restocking these, as needed
- Overseeing the sale of items stocked by the practice
- Liaising with courier services and laboratories to ensure that samples are delivered and collected on time
- Assist with pet supply purchases such as pet food, supplements, and grooming items

Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room and reception area and any areas needing attention within the practice

Veterinary Receptionist Requirements
- Previous administrative experience, preferably within a healthcare setting
- A good knowledge of veterinary clinic procedures and terminologies is desirable
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Personable, empathic disposition
- Capacity to work well during distressing situations.
- Ability to work shifts, on weekends, and on public holidays, as needed, between two locations
- Full driving licence

Hours and Location of work
- Monday
- Friday and 1:4 Saturday mornings
- 37.5 Hours p/w
- Initially at the Ambleside branch for shadowing and training, then at St Peters branch when it is fully up and functioning

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
