Senior Engineering Technician

**SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN**

NORTH MANCHESTER AREA

3-Shift + (1 in 4 Weekend Cover)

£60,000 OTE

Due to an increase in customer demand in our clients business, they are now recruiting for an Electrically Biased Engineer to join their team in the North Manchester Area on a 4on4off based position.

**Role Description**
- Provide technical support to all departments ensuring safe and efficient maintenance.
- Maximise plant Up time and minimise plant Down time
- Communicate at all levels of Engineering and Production Departments the status of plants and ongoing projects
- Investigate, report and resolve repetitive engineering faults
- Maintain the computerised maintenance system shift logs, follow up actions, fault and diagnosis
- Carry out risk assessments, issue permits to work and supervise engineering contractors
- Design, build and commission control system upgrades and plant improvement projects
- Carry out inspection and testing of electrical installations and portable appliances
- Organise and supervise planned work for the craftsmen with assistance from the computerised maintenance system and engineering planner
- Organise and control weekend work on a rota basis

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Three phase, single phase and DC control systems - including motor and heating
- Ability to follow relay ladder logic wiring diagrams
- Basic knowledge of a Siemens control system - recognition of Inputs and Outputs. Desirable but not essential as full training given
- Electrical installation
- Testing and Inspection with PAT - desirable
- Basic understanding of mechanical repairs
- HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Have extensive knowledge of modern control systems including Siemens PLC's and both digital and analogue drives.
