Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

The Governors at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA (HLTA) on a Variable Hours Contract (minimum 2.5 hours, Initial hours 26.25 ). The Governors wish to appoint a HLTA who can demonstrate inspirational teaching and learning, leading to excellent outcomes for all children.
We are looking for a HLTA who;
- Supports our Catholic ethos, upholding our values and mission statement
- Who will ensure our children are supported socially, emotionally and academically
- Has a passion for ensuring pupils receive a nurturing and secure start to school life
- Has experience of working within EYFS and KS1
- Has experience supporting pupils with Autism and Specific Processing Disorders
- Has a good understanding of barriers that exist with all groups of learners.
- Has a clear understanding of how pupils learn and develop and is dynamic in preparing and adapting learning
- Is enthusiastic about providing high quality, varied learning experiences for our children
- Will work closely alongside Class Teachers and SENCO to deliver, monitor and evaluate interventions
- Is able to use School Support Plans SSP’s and EHCP plans to identify and evaluate targets to meet Pupils needs, adapting learning as required.
- Will provide support ,yet still encourage independence, to enable pupils to be the best they can be
- Works effectively as part of a team and is willing to contribute to the wider aspects of school
- Enjoys working with other adults to continue to fulfil our vision in moving our school forward
- Is a reflective practitioner, committed to self improvement and positive about professional development
