**Job description**

**Domestic Cleaner**

**PURPOSE OF JOB**:
To provide an acceptable standard of cleanliness around all areas of the home.

**Domestic Cleaner Key Responsibilities**:

- To clean all designated areas in the home to the required standard.
- To ensure that the bathrooms, shower-rooms and toilets are kept in a clean state throughout the period of duty.
- To maintain an acceptable standard of cleanliness in residents rooms, including the making of beds and the changing of bed linen as appropriate.
- Cleaning, hoovering, mopping, dusting and polishing of all floors and surfaces, observing appropriate safety use and avoiding hazards to residents and visitors.
- To maintain the kitchen area to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Daily washing, drying of all laundry.
- Ironing of clothing and other laundry items.
- To undertake additional cleaning tasks that may be required from time to time.

**Hours per week**: 15

**Shifts**: Weekdays only - and at the beginning and end of working week.

**Job Type**: Permanent
