Position Overview:
As Finning UK & Ireland Head of Procurement, you will manage the procurement function, be responsible for managing on all Non-Cat supply of products and services, including Fleet management.

As Head of Procurement you will also develop and implement a procurement strategy that meets the current and future requirements of the business and supports the overall procurement and supply chain strategy.

To ensure that suppliers and selected who will contribute to the delivery of quality products and services to both internal stakeholders and external end customers that have proper governance and supplier relationship management tools and utilised.

**Job Description**:
Major Job Functions for the Head of Procurement
- To work closely with global procurement teams to maximise synergy opportunities.
- Develop, and deliver procurement function strategic goals and Key Performance Indicators (i.e. cost reduction, process improvements and standardisation) through dedicated management and active participation with both the regional operations teams and global supply chain team.
- Oversee and drive procurement & vendor management’s strategic objectives at the local levels and ensure implementation of and compliance to negotiated contracts and agreements, and policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain close alignment with Global Procurement to deliver corporate objectives within Regional operational requirements and strategies.
- Partner and liaise with and influence internal business partners to ensure early involvement and optimal use of procurement and supplier tools, processes and systems. Build strong relationship with other key departments to influence wider business thinking and to adopt a more collaborative approach through our teams.
- Mentor and support project management concepts to the planning and execution of procurement projects.
- Provide direction and clearly communicate targets to teams, measuring performance against agreed targets.
- Identify training and development opportunities to increase skills and improvement in performance. Develop the capability and the skill set of the Procurement Team.
- Development of strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Embed a robust and sustainable supplier management process and culture within the business. Ensuring the necessary Management and tools (Framework Agreements, SLA, Warranty) required are installed and utilised and leveraged to best results of the business.

Knowledge and education for the Head of Procurement
- Understanding of strategic procurement
- Understands and adheres to policies and procedures, including safety Knowledge of commercial/contractual practices (desirable)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic procurement plans.
- Practical experience and theoretical knowledge in inventory management and procurement operations
- Strong leadership experience in managing functional activities and tasks through direct reports, managerial planning and integrating support activities
- Track record of delivering sustainable purchasing related solutions with tangible benefits
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent experience in a related field
- Significant working experience in supply chain planning and procurement Extensive experience leading/managing/supervising direct reports Experience within a large organisation with a proven track record of influencing authority at all levels and implementing supply chain strategies Full CIPS Membership (desirable)
- Minimum Degree qualified
- Preferable MBA or equivalent
- Previous experience of leading in a global organisation (desirable)
