Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Key stage 2)

Location: Ashington,

Contract: Long-term, Full-time

Job Description: As a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school setting, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide assistance to the teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting the individual needs of the students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver effective lessons.
- Provide support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Work closely with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support, including those with additional needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional development of all students.
- Help to maintain discipline and manage behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and school staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the classroom and school environment.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a classroom setting is essential.
- Experience supporting students with additional needs is preferred.
- A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the diverse needs of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
- GCSE English & Maths
- Preferably qualified to an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with children
- Understanding of classroom procedures and policies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
