Cambian Chesham House School is an independent, DfE-registered, co-educational day school, providing specialist education for up to 20 students, aged 10-18 years.

Main purpose of the job:

- To provide a healthy menu and meet the dietary needs of young people, working in collaboration of the wider school team

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsibility for ensuring and promoting the safeguarding of any young people that you may meet.
- To work in accordance with the school’s vision and aims

Cooking:

- To prepare and cook a selection of healthy meals on a daily basis
- To meet the dietary needs of young people on an individual basis
- To appropriately plan meals in advance providing a pre-set meals list to the head of school on a weekly basis.
- To ensure that the purchasing of provisions remains within the budgetary requirements and prepare shopping lists for purchase
- To maintain a high level of kitchen and personal hygiene at all times
- To complete associated records related to the provision of food
- To support the provision of on-site catering and associated requirements to meet food standards regulations

Cleaning:

- To ensure a high level of cleanliness throughout the school
- To liaise with line manager and staff in relation to daily tasks that require completion
- To ensure internal glass and mirrors are cleaned regularly
- To ensure floors are cleaned regularly by hoover/mopping
- To ensure all toilet facilities are cleaned to a high standard as well as ensuring they are adequately stocked of relevant items
- To ensure any maintenance issues are reported to the head of school in a timely manner
- To use own initiative with regards to areas requiring cleaning
- To ensure any hazardous materials are locked away when not in use
- Other Duties:

- To undertake training as and when appropriate.
- To comply with any reasonable request from your Line Manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.
- To undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Headteacher
- To be aware of the school's duty of care in relation to staff, students and visitors and to comply with all health and safety policies at all times.
- To be aware of, and comply with, the codes of conduct, regulations and policies of the school and its commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities.

- Previous experience within a culinary/cleaning role
- Evidence of commitment to continued professional development.
- Experience of maintaining food standards in line with legislation
- Recognised culinary qualification
- Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements related to the role
- Good Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with others.
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexible approach to work.
- Prior knowledge of Health and Safety surrounding cleaning materials/an awareness of COSHH
- Recognised Food Hygiene Certificate
