**Job Title - Water Hygiene Operative**

**Location - Worcestershire, England**

**Contract - 6 month contract initially**

**Hours - 37.5 hours per week**

**Pay rate - £14.61 per hour**

**We at Vox Consultants are recruiting for a client based in the Worcestershire area.**

**Job Purpose**:
To participate in the provision of an Estates service primarily undertaking day-to-day inspections, repairs, planned maintenance, installation and minor improvements to the hot and cold water systems.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance work in accordance with Estates schedules and accepted good working practices in order to ensure safe and reliable domestic water services.
- Overhaul, renovate and repair worn, failed or damaged TMVs, taps, showers and other water components as necessary
- To carry out any necessary plumbing or drainage installations
- Use chemicals safely to disinfect components and water systems observing all necessary precautions
- Participate fully in all relevant estates procedures and ensure completion of all necessary documentation in accordance with Estates Department policies.
- When required advise others on the correct operation of equipment to which you are conversant.
- Record written work information legibly and without errors as required also record information using the Planet CAFM software.
- Wear the appropriate protective clothing and footwear, uniforms, safety wear and equipment as deemed appropriate to the job and as required by the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Estates Department.
- Where necessary induct and instruct other staff on duties in support of your own
- When required and authorised by your direct line managers give assistance and support to other trade disciplines within the Estates Department to ensure an efficient estates service is provided.
- When required participate in the gritting and snow/ice clearance of the Hospital roads and pavements.
- To carry out all duties in a safe manner, having regard for the safety of others.
- To undergo all necessary update and health & safety training
- Participation in response/emergency teams for fire, major incident and any other requiring an Estates Department input.
- When required drive the Trust vehicles.
- To assist in the upkeep of a small material store and to identify components required to complete repairs.
- To be responsible for the upkeep, tidiness and maintaining of a safe working environment in the workshops and engineering plant rooms.
- Where necessary undertake training and operate any computerized systems that are used within the Estates Department.
- To liaise closely with all modern matrons, ward sisters and heads of departments with regards to water maintenance and other relevant estates matters.
- Carry out the execution of any other duties as relevant to the Estates services, which may be allocated by management.
- Be prepared to be available, within reason, to work at short notice, out of normal hours, in emergency situations.

**Qualifications/ Must have**
- Experience of basic fault finding and repair of mechanical systems and plant
- Able to use hand and simple machine tools
- Knowledge of basic health and safety and safe systems of work
- Ability to communicate effectively through E mails, spoken communication and non-verbal communication.

**Salary**: £14.61 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Ability to Commute:
