Taunton, United Kingdom Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dietitian to work in our Tier 3 Weight Management Service and alongside our Tier 4 Bariatric Surgery Service here at Musgrove Park Hospital. We have been awarded “International Centre of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery” status and are an ASO (The Association for the Study of Obesity) accredited collaborating centre for obesity management. As a lead centre in the South West of England, we are regularly involved in research.

You will work within the dedicated and supportive MDT of Consultant Endocrinologists, Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant, Consultant Surgeons, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Research Team and clerical staff to provide part of the Dietetic service for the Weight Management Service. This will involve providing specialist dietetic patient care in MDT clinics, dietetic led clinics and group education and intervention sessions, by telephone, digital platforms or face to face, at Musgrove Park Hospital, off site and potentially some home working. You will be supported by the Lead Weight Management Dietitian and the other dietitians in the Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery Service as well as the highly experienced wider MDT.

You will be working in a progressive, friendly and supportive Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery Dietetic team, who are highly regarded by other members of the services and wider Trust.

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone

**The main responsibilities are to**:

- assist the team with the provision and development of the Weight Management Dietetic Service, communicating regularly with the MDT
- jointly, with the other Weight Management Dietitians, undertake specialist dietetic and psychosocial assessment and provide advice, guidance and support to patients in the Weight Management Service
- work closely with the Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery MDT for patient care and service improvements
- provide specialist dietetic advice and guidance to non-specialist Dietetic colleagues and other clinicians
- provide supervision and support to other staff relating to the Weight Management service and the Student Dietetic Programme.
