***What you’ll be doing**:

- Training and mentoring team members in team specific activities
- Dealing with Onboarding of new team members
- Deputise for Project Leader as necessary including people management issues
- Supporting and ensuring quarterly delivery targets are achieved
- Supporting unblocking of issues
- Weekly Delivery Meetings
- Reviewing Quarterly delivery plan
- Planning and allocating tasks to the Design Team and collect and collate progress information alongside the Project Leader, for monitoring and improvement actions
- Participating in the decision-making process for the planning, people development and issue resolution when required
- Overseeing Designer deliverable to the programme schedule along with Data Collation (Input & Report building) to ensure smooth running of department
- Liaising with other teams across programme to enable your team
- Processing BoM items to achieve maturity

**Your skills and experiences**:

- Relevant people management qualification e.g., ILM/CMI - desirable
- Designer & Technical background
- Knowledge & experience of CAD (2D & 3D)
- Product lifecycle background e.g., Teamcenter
- Understanding of Engineering process & instructions

**The Hull & Outfit Design team**:
You will be a member of the Hull & Outfit Design team, which is responsible for producing and supervising the production of engineering solutions in the form of models, drawings, and other technical outputs in accordance with prescribed working standards and practices. This is an opportunity to work alongside the most cutting-edge design tools in the Submarines Industry.

This role is unique in engineering in that it is the first step into a management career, hence it preserves technical duties as a senior designer while also introducing management duties as an introduction to this new career.
