**Position Summary**

The primary responsibility of a MIG welding and fabrication of various gauges stainless steel products.

**Essential Functions**:

- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Monitor the fitting and welding process to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specification.
- Layouts, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, callipers, and rulers.
- Report all non-conforming material or parts to a supervisor.
- Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
- Comply with standards and procedures of Health and Safety Manual and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Complete housekeeping duties in assigned are or project are on a daily basis and/ or when required.
- Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specification.
- Complete required paperwork
- Preform other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Maybe required to work on site as and when required with longer hours than normally required

**Knowledge / Skills / Expertise**:

- 3-5 years’ experience welding and fabricating with stainless steel.
- Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, welding process and welding symbols.
- Must be able to operate manual or semi-automated welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes.
- Must be able to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality.
- Must be able to read a tape measure, level and square.
- Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently.
- Good verbal communication skills

**Environmental Conditions**:

- Humidity level may be elevated during summer months.
- Exposure to certain contaminants at times.
- Exposure to loud noise levels at times.

**Physical Demands**:

- This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.
- Climbing on ladders, working on scaffolds to assemble structures or working in confined spaces, may be required at times.
- The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toed shoes, gloves, helmets and hearing protection is utilised daily.
- Must be able to lift and manoeuvre heavy loads without physical restrictions.
- This is a 37.5 hour per week job with occasional mandatory overtime.

**Equipment Requirements**:

- This position requires you to supply your own assortment of hand tools to complete the tasks given. This will include, but is not limited to; a spanner, screwdrivers, hammers, measuring tapes and rulers.
- Equipment such as grinders, drill’s and welding plants will be supplied by the company.

**Salary**: £13.50-£15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
