Llanarth Court Hospital is a 114 bedded forensic hospital providing a secure environment consisting of medium, low and open rehabilitation settings for men and women with mental illness and or personality disorder.

We are looking for a Therapy Assistant to join our team at Llanarth Court Hospital. Llanarth Court is a forensic psychiatric hospital for patients with Mental Health needs. The role of the Therapy Assistant is to work closely with the Occupational Therapists, and the Therapy Team, to deliver group and one to one occupational, therapeutic and recreational activities and interventions. The work will take place on the wards, in the hospital grounds and in the community.

The role includes delivering innovative interventions, as directed by the Occupational Therapists, in order to meet the needs of the individual patient. Interventions range from helping patients learn basic skills such as cooking, laundry and cleaning, to developing more complex life skills and habits. The role will also include evaluation of the progress of the patient; documentation of interventions via clinical notes; being involved in reducing restrictive interventions (including being involved in managing incidents of violence and aggression where required).
