Ward Clerk

Exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to join our Paediatric ward as a Ward Clerk working 30 hours Monday to Friday.

We are looking for an individual who is patient focused, has excellent administrative and communication skills, and is able to work well as part of an integrated team. The ability to prioritise and organise workloads working very closely with the nursing team and multi disciplinary team.

To work with limited supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a clerical support service to medical and nursing staff at ward level within a busy Paediatric inpatient HDU ward. To display sensitivity and tact in dealing with patients and relatives.

To have a responsible outlook in order to cope with the unpredictable nature of ward activity, using prioritising skills and discretion to organise a daily workload to take account of deadlines and degrees of urgency.

General administrative duties.

Dealing with phone calls and queries.

Assisting in admitting patients electronically.

Using electronic patient records.

Clerical assistance to ward manager and nurse in charge.

Assisting nursing staff with transfers into and out of ward via capacity management

Booking transport

Patient advocate
