This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery and development of the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Library Service at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer service orientated individual to join our team, to provide a range of library services to NHS staff and students.

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out administrative tasks, dealing with document requests, handling general enquiries, lending books, inputting data into electronic systems, and ensuring smooth running of the Library Service at Northumbria Hospital and other sites. They will also support the administration of the Trust's clinical guidelines.

An ability to work both in a team and alone is essential, along with the ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential to this role.

The post holder must have a flexible approach to working across all Trust sites and be able to deal with changing circumstances and last minute alterations to the working routine.

The post is fixed term - 15 hours worked over 2 days

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.
