**Job summary**:
As a Performance and Data Officer you will ensure that managers and team leaders have the data to effectively manage the performance of the service, to support the team in continually improve the performance of Operations and to maintain and improve the Performance Management Framework.

Effective performance management is an ongoing activity and an integral part of leadership and management. Performance management is a collection of processes and behaviours for adoption by everyone in the team and is more than the monitoring of key performance indicators. It embraces all activities that are designed to support the effective delivery of our services. The key elements collectively provide a holistic view of performance and include quality assurance, outcomes, key indicators, compliance, financial planning, data and information, workforce and workload analysis, customer and user engagement, business planning and risk register review and monitoring.

**Job description**:
The Performance and Data Officer plays a key role in ensuring that our Performance Management Framework is robust, and that appropriate process and behaviours are in place and embedded to effectively manage and optimise performance across our Customer Service functions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To provide data both in its raw form and with an accompanying narrative to allow Managers and Leaders to manage the performance services as effectively and efficiently as possible.
- To support the Performance and Assurance Manager with all required data sets to support the business planning process.
- Create daily performance updates to enable the Operational Team Leaders and all staff to track progress on delivering the milestones and metrics set out in the Service Plan
- Support the Performance and Assurance Manager in setting effective internal and external key targets and performance indicators and the reporting of these targets and indicators with the aim of improving end outcomes.
- Work closely with managers and front-line colleagues, set stretching targets to maximise productivity and utilisation of the team
- Ensure systems are in place for the effective monitoring, evaluation and review of data for performance management processes and activities.
- Manage robust data quality and assurance processes.
- The input, collection, analysis and utilisation of data and information to track and manage performance and drive improvements across the service.

**Person specification**:
**Essential skills and experience**
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and critical reasoning skills
- Extensive IT skills including the use of Microsoft office, Power Business Information and Share Point
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel to create insights.
- The ability to think through and solution complex challenges.
- Experience of performance management and continuous improvement principles and their operational implementation
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and the ability to manage workloads and reprioritise accordingly.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders and present information to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate creative thinking.

**Desirable skills and experience**
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics
