Press Brake Operator

International Manufacturer seeks an experienced Press Brake Operator for our manufacturing team based in Bedford.

This is a full-time role working in the manufacturing team to produce stainless steel products.

Duties may include:

- Operate Press Brake, setting tools and programming.
- Use of various hand tools and sheet metal machinery in the fabrication and finishing of materials (training will be provided).
- Assist in basic welding when required.
- Assist in programming and nesting.
- Executing works orders to the required standards and on time ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Working of stainless-steel components 0.9mm to 3.00mm thickness.
- Quality Assurance by inspection of own work and others for manufactured and purchased finished products along with the associated paperwork.
- General warehouse tasks as and when required to suit demand.
- Planned regular housekeeping.

Skills and experience:

- Press Brake setting and operating
- Understand bend allowances, flat pattern and correct tooling
- Guillotine operations
- CNC Punch Press
- Laser operations
- TIG Welding
- CAD
- Finishing operations
- Good level of numeracy
- Able to read drawings and perform measurements
- Basic computer skills
- Forklift truck license - Counterbalance
- Workshop Health & Safety
- Ability to respond to short lead times which requires a flexible approach.

Working hours are 39 hours per week, 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am -12 noon on Fridays. The role is based at Bedford and will move to the Shefford site once redeveloped.
