Chief Finance Officer
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is a key role for the trust; we are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, good interpersonal skills and robust experience in managing the finances of a medium sized business such as our own. If you have also worked within the finance team of another multi or single academy trust that would also be beneficial, however, it is not essential. In return, we offer the opportunity to work in a well resourced, financially secure trust that looks after its staff and offers them significant benefits alongside the remuneration package. You will have access to private healthcare, a gold-plated public sector pension, flexible working, organised staff welfare events and generous absence policies that support a positive work/life balance. You would also benefit from priority admission for your children, giving them access to one of the highest performing group of schools in the country.
The finance team is very experienced, with a payroll manager, a finance director and two finance officers who support the work of the CFO. The CFO leads this team, having oversight and responsibility for the quality of their work. The CFO reports directly to the Accounting Officer who work closely with the heads of school of our academies through regular finance meetings. The CFO attends all Trust meetings ensuring that trustees have the financial information and analysis they need in order to support and challenge our work.
You will also work alongside the other senior leaders of central services including HR, Catering, Site Operations and New Technologies which will give you the additional support you need to fulfil your role. The support staff team are experienced, very capable and always willing to help each other when it is needed.
All three academies within our Federation have their own distinctive features, they all share the same passion for academic success and encourage all students to develop a range of musical, sporting and artistic talents. We offer a vast and diverse range of trips locally and visits internationally. Behaviour across all three schools is outstanding. We are proud that the Federation runs on an ethos of trust and mutual respect; no rooms are locked in order to enable all students to make the most of the facilities on offer.
- Benefit from central services which encompass financial management, staffing, catering, IT, site and school improvement that are led centrally by the Executive Principal (EP) and Chief Finance Officer (CFO), overseen by the Resources Committee of the Federation.
This structure allows the Federation’s academies to maintain their own identity, ethos and culture whilst benefitting from the economies of scale which come from being part of a larger organisation.
