**Weekend Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor**

Smurfit Kappa currently has a vacancy for a Weekend Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor, based at the Jupiter Road, Norwich site.

To support the Engineering Manager and work alongside the Weekend Day Shift Maintenance Supervisor to run the sites maintenance function during the weekend in line with the agreed engineering strategy.

Act as the first line of support for the Engineering Team with technical issues, providing technical leadership and supporting skills development/knowledge within team.

To manage works order workflow, set priorities, maintain the PM system, and develop/ improve predictive/preventative/and quality controls.

Previous experience working within a factory environment or working shifts will be an advantage.

**Main Duties**

Safety auditing and role modelling safety behaviours amongst team.

Support the development of the implementation of delegated aspects of the engineering strategy including projects where appropriate.

Support the weekend running of the Engineering Department including ensuring compliance with operations standards and the delivery of reliability targets.

Undertake delegated aspects of people management including supporting the Engineering Manager with appraisals, training, and development plans, managing performance and employee communications.

Ensure management of contractors whilst on site in line with site health and safety processes.

Work in collaboration with the weekend engineering team to agree prioritization of works.

Issue of work orders for - PM/CM/PPM.

Update Standard Operations procedures as necessary.

Undertake other duties within capabilities as directed by Engineering Manager.

Key requirements of this role include an ability to:

- Follow health and safety policies and procedures and be proactive in supporting a positive health and safety culture;
- Adhere to defined procedures and performance standards to ensure operations are compliant with the required quality standards to meet customer requirements;
- Participate in proactive problem solving exercises to address any issues impacting on production;
- Communicate with all team members to ensure that a high quality handover takes place;
- Understand basic numerical data required to operate to the required production standards;
- Work well on own initiative and as a member of various teams within the Operations function.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**

Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a high degree of automation and batch production.

Technical knowledge of drives.

Experience of people management - people focused leadership style.

Good organizational skills with an ability to manage own and others workload and priorities, including working under pressure.

Excellent communication skills - verbal and written including one to one and group meetings.

Ability to problem solve through to root cause.

Ability to influence key stakeholders.

Experience of driving and managing change.

Ability to build effective relationships with customers and other external contacts.

Flexibility and adaptable to change including a high degree of resilience.

**Qualifications (essential and desirable)**
- Multi-skilled engineer with appropriate professional/technical qualifications (essential)
- Ideally electrically biased (desirable)
- IOSH Trained (desirable)
- ILM level 3 (desirable)
- SAP PM (desirable and willing to work towards with training)
