**What You’ll Do**

As a Product Design Lead for Morningstar’s Wealth Platform, you will be joining at an exciting time for the team where you’ll have the opportunity to drive large impact. You’ll work in close collaboration with Design, Product, and Engineering leadership to influence and guide the design of a platform uniquely positioned to modernize how advisors work with clients to improve financial outcomes. You will be responsible for ensuring we’re solving the right customer problems by setting the user experience vision through design discovery and working with product stakeholders to develop realistic product roadmaps to achieve this vision. As a lead individual contributor, this role will be both strategic and delivery focused. We anticipate the design team will grow and this role will play a critical role in establishing design culture, processes, and practices to help us scale design contributions while also executing against an ambitious vision. As such, you will be expected to collaborate with more junior designers, providing mentorship, guidance, and design oversight.

Morningstar Wealth Platform’s Design team is growing, and this will be a pivotal individual contributor role in the Edinburgh location working in collaboration with Design Leadership and a growing team of local Design practitioners. **Who You Are - Core Responsibilities**

As a Product Design Lead, you will lead strategic thinking and deliver clear design solutions. You will coordinate with peers in business, technology, and other roles to understand and implement against someone else’s strategy and craft strategies of your own. You will oversee concurrent workstreams by providing creative leadership, establishing processes, and assisting with program planning. This role is part of our individual contributor track.

**Primary focus**
- Drive the user experience on a new product offering, leading the team towards a solution, and coordinate the work of other designers toward desired outcomes with support from other design, product, marketing, and engineering leaders.
- Model meticulous attention to detail while consistently delivering high-quality solutions within brand, design and technical standards.
- Identify connections between products and communication channels, and guide teams to build and plan for coordinated solutions for a Wealth advisor experience across software, mobile, and other channels.

**Leadership**
- Provide creative direction across user experience with guidance from design leadership and provide mentorship to more junior designers.
- Understand our strategy and can engage with partners to identify opportunities to achieve a plan within project parameters of scope, timeline, budget, etc.
- Work autonomously with direction from your manager. You’ll be trusted to determine design approach and provide other designers with clarity on assignments and to help coordinate their work.
- Coach other designers, business leads, and stakeholders on the values and methods of design thinking to solve user needs and realize business goals while also supporting our design culture.
