**Role description**:
Arcadis are involved in some of the UK’s most complex and diverse projects that are technically demanding and offer considerable potential for learning and development. As such, we are currently looking to recruit a Flood Modeller to join our ever-growing Water Management team out of either our Cardiff, Bristol or Exeter offices. We lead on the delivery of a variety of schemes and are working closely with the regulators e.g. the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, as well as the UK’s key infrastructure providers (Network Rail, Highways England), Local Government and private developers/investors.

Collaborating, learning, thinking proactively and creatively forms the ethos of the team and a fundamental part of your role.

**Role accountabilities**:

- Undertaking modelling studies and flood risk projects
- Carrying out technical checks of hydraulic models
- Produce flood risk assessments
- Coaching junior team members
- Advancing our technical modelling expertise
- Managing components of projects, taking responsibility for your own personal time and potentially resource management, and coordinating team members, managing subcontractors, quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications
- Working in collaboration with specialists from other engineering and environmental disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall project
- Ensuring compliance with company systems in the components of the project for which you have responsibility, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies
- Supporting the preparation of project proposals / bids / fee estimates
- Building relationships with clients on projects
- Gaining awareness of commercial aspects of projects (contract, budgets invoicing, client management etc.) relating to projects for which you input into
- Providing input to project teams, leading by example to achieve sector goals and, championing quality and innovation
- Assisting and participating in developing yourself and other team members to their full potential

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Fluvial flood modelling experienced using industry-standard software:

- Essential: FLOOD MODELLER PRO / TUFLOW
- Desirable: HEC-RAS, MIKE, ICM
- Competent in the use of ArcPro and QGIS
- Experience in producing Flood Risk Assessments
- Desired: Working towards Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM
- Desired: Experience in hydrological studies using UK design flood methodologies (e.g. Flood Estimation Handbook)
- Desired: Experience in undertaking Hydro-Environmental Impact Assessments and preparing the Water chapter of Environmental Statements
