Our client is a leading engineering consultancy committed to achieving a carbon neutral and sustainable future for the built environment. They are currently seeking someone to join their passionate team of sustainability experts as a Principal Sustainability Consultant, to help them lead the way towards a net-zero-carbon future.

As a Principal Sustainability Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in growing the Life Cycle Assessment team in the UK, with a focus on analysing the holistic environmental impact of materials. Supported by talented teams worldwide, who have shaped the global Net Zero Carbon agenda, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects. This role emphasises business development and industry leadership, where you will be supported by the management team.

Collaborating closely with colleagues from various disciplines, you will be responsible for designing, analysing, reporting, modelling, and documenting sustainability projects. Additionally, you will engage with clients to expand the sustainability project portfolio and promote services and expertise in the local market.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the delivery of consultancy projects
- Assess building fabric and materials for sustainability
- Prepare technical summary reports and detailed technical reports
- Consult with clients to understand their expectations
- Liaise with clients, project partners, and stakeholders
- Analyse large data sets and present concise outputs
- Support junior consultants and collaborate with senior colleagues
- Ensure internal quality assurance
- Present project results to clients

**Required Skills**:

- Degree in engineering, architecture, or the built environment
- Strong knowledge of building materials and embodied carbon
- Comprehensive understanding of environmental impact quantification, EPDs, and environmental science
- Experience with Life Cycle Assessment tools is preferred
- Appreciation of coding is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and ability to overcome challenges with initiative
