**We are recruiting a Childcare Leader at Caerphilly County Borough Council.**

**Working hours**: 20 hours per week

Monday & Tuesday: 08:30 - 12:30

Wednesday: 08:15 -12:45

Thursday: 08:15 - 12:30

Friday: 08:30 - 11:45

**Contract Type**:Fixed Term until 31st March 2025, Part Time, Term Time Only

**Location**: Various locations across the borough

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Early Years Service.

**We pay an attractive salary of £13,914.76 - £16,993.51 and offer access to training and development opportunities.**

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our vibrant and high quality Flying Start Childcare for a Childcare Leader (maternity cover). The post will be a fixed term contract of 20 hours until 31st March 2025.

We require this post to be filled as soon as possible to adhere to Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards. The post holder will be required to supervise the daily running of a childcare setting and manage a team of childcare staff. The Leader will mainly be located in one of our settings, however, due to the nature of the service the post holder may be required to support other Flying Start Settings located throughout the Caerphilly Borough.

The Childcare Leader is responsible for managing a childcare team to deliver high quality provision; supporting and encouraging the engagement of parents/carers and children; monitoring and evaluating attendance and take up rates; ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision; ensuring an inclusive and respectful environment; supporting children with additional and emerging needs and working with multi agency partners to deliver the programme seamlessly. The Leader will be included in staffing ratios. The leader is required to be qualified to Level 3 with 2 years post qualifying experience. They must be near completion or have achieved QCF Level 5 Childcare Learning and Development to be compliant with Welsh Government Flying Start Guidelines. **For the role, we ask that you have**:

- CACHE Level 3 Diploma Early Years and Childcare qualification or similar relevant qualification.
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience of working with children aged under 4 years, in a childcare provision.
- Knowledge of educational development and health needs of children under 5.
