At CVS, we are the largest integrated veterinary service provider in the UK, operating in excess of 500 veterinary surgeries throughout the UK, Ireland and Holland. Our surgeries include nine referral practices providing first class specialist treatment, one of which is Dovecote Veterinary Hospital.

Dovecote is a busy, progressive, growing, multi‐disciplinary, referral‐hospital in the East Midlands. Our hospital specialities include Neurology, Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery, Oncology and Dermatology. The hospital is located in Castle Donington - a picturesque market town in the heart of the Midlands, 10 minutes from East Midlands international airport, 30 minutes from the Peak District and 20 minutes from both Nottingham and Derby. We are also a clinical associate practice for University of Nottingham Veterinary School.

Duties and responsibilities to include:

- Develop and deliver a vision for your service, engaging team members to contribute to the development of clinical activities within the hospital. This should include ownership and accountability of service-specific issues which might include: - the implementation of regular team meetings - organisation and modification of consulting schedules - provision of out of hours rotas and holiday cover
- Effectively lead change in your service, using a collaborative approach with your team, other clinical services and head/senior nurses, ensuring that the reasons for change are effectively communicated, understood, owned and implemented
- Take a proactive lead in clinical development and training for all staff within your department, in line with the CPD budget
- Ensure probationary reviews and regular check-ins take place within your team and that objectives are followed up on appropriately
- Assist the clinical directors in enabling your service to deliver the highest quality of clinical care and outcomes with focus on safe, timely, effective and efficient interventions. Collaborate with your team, other clinical services and the head/senior nurse team to enact these changes
- Act as a figurehead for professional development in your service; this might include proposals for CPD topics, coordination of student activities, residency and internship programmes and clinical research
- Understand and empathise with the performance metrics used by the hospital
- Help the clinical directors establish connections between your service and clients/referring vets through CPD organisation, etc.
