**Reporting to**: Communications and Engagement Manager

**Overall purpose**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to join our team here at York CVS. In this dynamic and varied role, you'll get to work on different projects and support the Communications and Engagement Manager to ensure York CVS has a thriving relationship with the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector.

Key responsibilities inclue:

- Digital content creation for York CVS’s website and social media channels
- Updating the York CVS website
- Supporting the running of internal and external events
- Updating the intranet site and support all internal communications
- Coordinating the membership administration, including collating content for e-newsletters and updating our membership database
- Providing admin support including note taking and minute taking at meetings.

**Person Specification**

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Good editorial skills, with experience of editing content for digital and print media.
- Able to maintain high standards and good attention to detail.
- Able to work within clear guidelines, systems and processes.
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt writing style and tone for different audiences and platforms; ability to interpret information to produce clear concise communications in a timely manner.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of content and communication tools, methods and evaluation techniques, e.g.: Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Content Management Systems (CMS), HTML, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Eventbrite and Canva.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office 365 (Teams and SharePoint).

Experience
- One years’ experience in an admin/communications role.
- Experience of managing professional social media accounts, including: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Experience of producing print and digital media to promote activities and services.
- Experience of planning and coordinating external events.
- Experience of working/volunteering in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.
