NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Talking Therapies provide Step 2 and 3 interventions, as part of the NHS Talking Therapies stepped care model for the residents of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. This PWP Apprentice post is a training role within the NHS Talking Therapies Programme. The post-holder will work within the service providing low intensity interventions at Step 2, whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self
- management interventions to patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The post-holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider (2 days per week), as specified within National Low Intensity curriculum, and work in the service for the remaining 3 days of the week, using their newly-developed skills

Apprentice PWP's will develop skills in providing assessment and low Intensity CBT interventions, using the principles of guided self-help in line with the NICE-recommended stepped care model, this includes cCBT, psychoeducational courses and individual sessions.

As an Apprentice PWP you will complete 1:1 service suitability assessments with patients and 1:1 treatment appointment over the phone, face to face or by video appointment on Attend Anywhere.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The duration of the PWP Apprenticeship course is one academic year and will be provided by the University of Exeter.The University course begins on 12thSeptember 2023.

There will be a 2 part interview process, firstly with the service on the 12th or 13th July and the University at a later date.

Please note that this is an IN PERSON post and the post holder will be required to work in county and attend University in person.
