This is a brand-new opportunity to join a nature intelligence start-up who are providing a range of businesses with the insight they need to make a nature-positive impact. Integrating world-leading geospatial modelling with asset data, the client are able to show businesses how they interact with nature beyond carbon alone. This ultimately leads to informed decisions that benefit the environment by accounting for agriculture, biodiversity, vegetation, hydrology, soils, and carbon emissions.

Leading the company’s scientific research efforts in the fields of regenerative farming, agricultural systems, and plant-soil interactions, you will work closely with the CSO and the senior leadership team to develop and deliver scientifically rigorous data products to agricultural clients. This role will require you to design metrics for the assessment of impacts and dependencies on nature. From here, you will help to develop novel large-scale models that integrate management data and/or field observations.

This role is based in London and offers a hybrid working split. Please note that the client cannot offer VISA sponsorship at this time.

**What you’ll be doing**:
In the brand-new role of Head of Agricultural Science, you will:

- Lead the company’s research efforts related to agricultural modelling and crop productivity.
- Develop and deliver scientifically robust solutions for agricultural clients.
- Manage a small team of scientists, being responsible for their skill development.
- Integrate management data with statistical and process-based models, to develop novel methods that improve traditional agricultural practices.
- Communicate complex models and scientific concepts to a range of non-technical personnel, including C-Suite Executives.
- Collaborate with internal and external scientists from a broad range of disciplines.
- Have the opportunity to publish papers as a collaborative effort with the broader business, staying abreast of the latest scientific and Government policy developments.
- Communicate with a range of stakeholders, broadening the client base and leverage network connections where possible.

**What experience you’ll need to apply**:
This role will be perfect for you if you:

- Worked in industry for or in collaboration with agribusinesses.
- Leadership skills, with experience managing and supporting junior colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to articulate complex scientific concepts to a non-scientific audience.
- Are familiar with software development best practices, having worked closely with software development teams previously.

**What you’ll get in return for your experience**:
In addition to a base salary of £45,000-£60,000 (DOE), you will also receive:
