**About the role**:
We are seeking a Deputy Academy Lead SWAM (Safeguarding, Welfare and Attendance Manager).

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a huge positive impact on the lives and life chances of pupils and their families across the academy.

**About you**:
**Essential**

Degree level qualification linked to role (psychology, sociology etc)

Minimum of 2 years clerical/administrative experience including contact with a range of customers/clients.

Previous training / experience within a Safeguarding /Attendance role/social services

Significant experience working with children and families at risk and in challenging situations

Experience of successfully dealing with child protection issues.
Pertinent experience to all aspects of this varied role; safeguarding, attendance, families, working closely with external agencies, leadership

Significant experience working with children and families at risk and in challenging situations

Intellectual approach to improving set procedures.

Management of a team to include performance management/appraisal.

Experience of successfully dealing with child protection issues.
A high degree of personal, interpersonal, organisational, communication and administrative skills including initiative, diplomacy, influencing, discretion and a professional approach.

IT literate - ability to work with all Microsoft packages and safeguarding packages.

Flexible, adaptable and communicates well with the whole school community and all those who interact with us.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated and able to complete tasks despite daily distraction.

Ability to solve problems within area of work.

Good time management and ability to prioritise.
