**Medacs Healthcare **is looking for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology interested in joining a large university hospital based in Wales.

**Salary**: £35408.00 to £46844.00 per annum

Hours: Full Time

Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months

health and acute hospital services for a population of around 676,000 people across the six counties.

Main duties of the post:

- Emergency work including initial assessment and investigation of patients who attend labour ward, the maternity outpatient assessment unit and the early pregnancy assessment unit.
- Assistant in obstetric emergencies and in general gynaecology theatres including the day case surgery.
- Outpatient work including antenatal, gynaecological and postmenopausal clinics. You should also be able to attend ultrasound clinics and some clinics in other specialties such as urogynaecology, genitor-urinary medicine and genetics.
- Participation in ward rounds, documentation of findings and discussions.
- Review of inpatients on a daily basis and discussion with senior doctor.
- Attend handover meetings when on call for obstetrics or gynaecology (0830; 1300 and 1700 hours). Documentation and communication of outstanding issues.

At junior tier (GPST, ST1 or ST2, FY2 or FY3, Junior Clinical Fellow) you will be on a rota of a 9 doctor shift. The night shift will be covered between Junior Clinical Fellow level and the 2 Midwife Practitioners. The post is compliant with EWTD. There will always be a middle grade on duty to assist and supervise you. Prospective cover applies to both annual and study leave.

Friday afternoons are dedicated to departmental training; this is part of the working week and rostered into the hour's calculation.

**Requirements**:

- GMC registered
- Completion of Foundation stage (or equivalent) of hospital medicine/surgery.
- Relevant and recent experience at clinical fellow trainee level and above
- MRCOG part 1
- ATLS provider
