**Job Description**:
PTS Call Handler - Scottish Ambulance Service, Falkirk

- Starting 8th May 2023 - must be available to start on this date- Location - Scottish Ambulance Station, Bradbury House, Falkirk- Temporary ongoing contract- £12.23ph - £21.28ph dependant on shifts worked- Must be able to work 37.5hrs per week, which consist of five 8-hour shifts.- Must be able to work any shifts between 08:00 - 20:00 between Monday to Saturday.- Full training provided - all successful applicants must be available to attend one week training Monday-Saturday 09:30-17:30, moving on to a relief shift pattern thereafterKey Responsibilities:

- Receive SAS led call handing training to facilitate Health Care Profession calls and calls from Patients/Representatives requiring to book the Patient Transport Service- First point of contact for both patients and healthcare professionals making transport booking arrangements- Keeping the caller calm to get valuable information- Finding out accurate details to determine the nature of the call and location- Providing reassurance and support to callers whilst emergency services are dispatched- Logging all information from the call on to the system accuratelyEssential Skills:

- Excellent communication skills- Ability to prioritise and make decisions quickly- Ability to work effectively under pressure- Ability to work with minimum supervision- Experience in working with the public either in a healthcare setting, a contact centre environment or on a face-to-face basis.- Must be able to type at a minimum 30wpm with accuracyDue to the nature of work, you must also be able to pass a Disclosure Scotland check.
