**HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday (Days)**

**BASIC SALARY: £12.36 per hour**

**Company Profile**

Our client is seeking a Shipping Operative to provide high quality and efficient packing, and shipping service. To work with the logistics office and production to handle goods received and outgoing shipments efficiently.

In this Shipping Operative role, you will be responsible for:

- Receiving finished goods, check and locate within the shipping area in readiness for shipping to the end customer.
- To pack all goods that are ready for shipment to end customers.
- To acquire the knowledge and skills for packing the complete size / range of goods ensuring the necessary quality standards are achieved.
- To ensure instruments & goods being packed match customer requirements in accordance with the production order.
- To work to Known Consignor Security regulations
- To liaise with the Logistics Office regarding outgoing orders
- Carry out weekly stock checks of meters within the shipping area.
- Use integrated computer systems (ERPLN)
- To attach the appropriate documentation to the outgoing shipments, and sort in readiness to be shipped.
- To work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures as set out by the company, especially regarding Manual handling and PPE.
- To maintain all packing tools and keep equipment in good working condition and keep the workstations tidy / organised in line with company housekeeping standards.
- To keep shipping and packing areas tidy
- Recycling of packaging materials in compliance with Waste Regulation
- To support continuous improvement activity and take an active role in the implementation of improvements.
- To assist the Shipping office with the physical movement of Production documentation to allow efficient access to the Archives when needed.

To be successful as a Shipping Operative:

- Good PC skills
- Used to handling awkward and heavy loads using manual and mechanical aids.
- FLT Licence (Counterbalance)
- Excellent accuracy of work
- Good speed and consistency of packing and related jobs
- Good interpersonal skills and team working
- Working to tight deadlines
- Experience reading and following work instructions.
