**About The Role**:
Are you an experienced water quality consultant looking for the next step in your career? GoBe consultants, part of the APEM group, are seeking a marine water quality consultant to join our growing team

**About the role**

As a senior consultant, you will have the opportunity to work in and help shape a rapidly developing and dynamic company involved in some of the largest and most exciting infrastructure development projects in the UK. Your responsibilities will include providing technical advice to clients and project teams, data gathering and management and producing high quality reports for environmental impact assessments.

In this role, you will work on our UK project portfolio, including contributing to and/or leading on stakeholder liaison to clients. One of your key responsibilities will be to provide technical advice, assessment, and strategic direction on our existing projects, offering specialist input on the interaction of marine developments on the receiving physical environment, including sites designated under the Water Framework Directive.

As you develop in this role, you will become a key advisor in the marine sector, use your detailed understanding of the interaction of marine developments with the marine environment to ongoing and future projects to help expand our technical offering to our clients. This is a chance to be part of a dynamic and innovative team, making a positive impact on the environment and working at the forefront of the renewable offshore wind energy sector.

Please note that due to our desire to regularly work together face-to-face as a team; the successful applicant needs to live within a commutable distance of
**our Glasgow or Buckfastleigh office as we expect the majority of the time in office to support staff (3 days per week)**; the rest of the time you will work from home.

**About you**

You will have:

- A degree, (preferably MSc/PhD level) in a relevant discipline (geo-sciences, oceanography, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication, organisational and time management skills
- Working knowledge of the technical assessments underpinning marine sediment and water quality work (e.g. numerical modelling, sediment plumes, sediment contaminants and hydrodynamic assessments etc.)
- Demonstrated experience of working with sediment characterisation, including contamination datasets
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder requirements for the assessment and presentation of WFD and sediment contamination data and reports.
**Desirable**
- Experience of working within the planning process, ideally in England, Wales, or Scotland
- Experience working with regulators and stakeholders
- A professional manner, with strong inter-personal skills and an ability to communicate at all levels both within the company and externally.
