Waste Management Team Leader

Prepworld are looking for a **Waste Management Team Leader**

The Team Leader’s role in addition to understanding and covering all Packaging, Yard & Waste Management operator duties, is to assist the Shift Supervisor with the organisation of the team and supporting all day-to-day requests.

The team leader will be required to liaise with other departments ensuring business requirements are fulfilled.

Ensure all areas are tidy, organised and no unauthorised staff enter, any unauthorised staff must be challenged and reported to the supervisor.

Other responsibilities associated with this role is to promote good H&S practices and assist in briefing out any new company policies that are issued.

**Main Duties**:

- Support when required with customer tray stock counts.
- Support when required pallet stock counts.
- Have knowledge of customer tray types.
- Moving of pallets/stock around the warehouse/yard in a safe and controlled manner.
- Unload delivery vehicles that arrive on site in a safe and controlled manner following all intake processes.
- To drive and handle all MHE equipment in a respectful, controlled, and safe manner ensuring all start up documents are filled in correctly.
- Ensure the yard/waste areas are clean, tidy, and organised always
- When required provide accurate stock counts of all customer tray SKU’s.
- Notify of any delivery discrepancies to the Shift Supervisor.
- Take ownership of delivery notes and ensure these are signed and passed onto the shift Supervisor.
- Follow instructions, undertaking any requests by Shift Supervisor.
- Always work with H&S at the forefront of your mind.
- Ability to learn new IT and work systems.
- Ability to track deliveries against delivery schedules to include confirming deliveries that have come in and highlighting deliveries that haven't.
- Understand technical requirements.
- In the absence of the Shift Supervisor can effectively liaise with Customer equipment and purchasing teams regarding delivery discrepancies
- Ability to correctly unload on arrival and bulk stack in correct areas plus oversee this procedure.
- In the absence of your Shift Supervisor being able to prepare, organize and conduct effective RTW interviews.
- Stand in for shift supervisors in their absence.
- Support shift supervisor in monitoring Yard & waste Management areas, ensuring operatives are working as expected and all procedures are being followed

**Other Role Requirements to note**:

- The role involves manual handling duties.
- The role requires use of an FLT (Counterbalance)
- The role requires the use of a PPT (Powered pump truck)
- The role requires the use of a MPT (Manual pump truck)
- Ability to accurately follow instructions/requests.
- On occasions due to business needs you may be deployed to work in other areas.
- Deputize for your Supervisor in their absence.
- Leading by example to effectively motivate the team ensuring targets are achieved.
- Support operative tasks

- Any other qualifications that are relevant to the tasks is advantageous.
- MHE experience is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge and food hygiene experience is advantageous.
- Good communication

- Excellent attention to detail.
- Show ability to work under pressure and in a timely fashion.
- Positive mindset to overcome daily challenges.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with other staff members and other departments
