**Job Scope**

As a senior officer of Erewash Health (EH) made up of Erewash PCN & Erewash Health Partnership, the Chief Operating Officer will lead EH's operational delivery of high-quality patient services on a day-to-day basis across Erewash (103k patients), inspiring a culture of excellence and providing leadership to the workforce and senior operational managers.

Support the improvement of clinical pathways across EH and support the CFO in the creation of Practice Shared Services. The role will also take on overall responsibility for the prevention agenda, quality, HR, project management, development of clinical services and practice liaison.

Further, the role will support the integration, development, standardisation and integration of EHP practices on clinical and non-clinical services to aid at scale working where appropriate, and continuity where this is the overriding quality factor.

The Chief Operating Officer is an associate member of the senior leadership team of EH. All SLT members share corporate responsibility for:

- Setting the strategic direction
- Achievement of the EH corporate objectives including compliance with CQC standards and the delivery of national targets and core standards
- Delivering high quality and safe care to patients
- Promoting a high-performance culture
- Promoting and living the values of the EH and fostering a culture which enables and motivates staff to deliver outstanding care to our patients and customers.

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Leadership_
- Work as a dynamic, innovative leader using an effective coaching style to ensure that the EPCN is run effectively and efficiently ensuring that the Eh is portrayed in a positive, collaborative manner.
- Provide strong leadership ensuring that effective management and performance systems are in place and individuals and teams are aware of their personal responsibilities.
- To lead the achievement of performance targets through a culture of openness and transparency to ensure that patients interests are at the heart of service delivery.
- To develop high performing teams of who work to key performance indicators and who are held to account in terms of delivery.
- To ensure the highest level of clinical engagement and involvement in the development and delivery of the clinical services.
- Identify and nurture leadership potential and talent.
- Ensure compliance with all performance and regulatory targets and standards.
- Challenge conventional approaches and drive forward change when needed, demonstrating a commitment to creating a learning organisation culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide support, through objective setting, appraisal, and the agreement of personal development plans, to all direct reports within the clinical divisions and other senior staff as agreed.
- Ensure high level engagement in the building of relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Operational Duites_
- Responsible for leading the operations team and the operation and services function to deliver effective and efficient day to day running of all EH services both clinical and non-clinical, working with SLT GPs, GP Leads and Practices as needed.
- To take autonomous decisions in areas which affect the operational working of the EH and in their improvement.
- That EH performance from both a quality and operational standard perspective is continually improved with SLT.
- Timely and clinically appropriate patient flow to achieve national and local health care standards, promoting safe, personal, and effective care.
- The identification and resolution of daily patient flow issues to ensure the smooth movement of patients through services.
- Ensure business continuity plans for the organisation are robust, monitored and escalated as appropriate and take account of the specific needs of high-risk clinical environments and equipment in the EH
- Performance, IM&T and Financial Management_
- Ensure appropriate data sourcing, recording, capture, reporting and improvement towards EH's Information and IT strategy
- Support EH's IM&T strategy to further develop informatics services, service line reporting and improved management of delivery systems and budgets to their most efficient optimum
- To deliver against performance targets assigned to the COO by EH as derived from the corporate plan linked to the Derbyshire plan.
