**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Job title: Head Housekeeper**
**Reports to: General Manager**

**Job purpose**:
- To maintain the highest standards of Housekeeping throughout the properties, including both hotels, the staff accommodation, and any other properties that the Company oversees.
- To control all resources required to service all areas of the properties. Includes all ordering processes, stock control systems and training of the housekeeping team to manage day-to-day.
- To create, maintain and drive all company standards through effective management of all processes and cultivate the understanding of the Housekeeping Department throughout the hotels.
**Management / Leadership Skills**
- Self-motivated, adaptable, an excellent team motivator and team builder.
- Able to nurture a good working relationship with other departments, such as reception and maintenance.
- Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail to ensure rooms are prepared to hotel standards and that equipment is stored safely.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures to ensure the team are trained to use hazardous cleaning materials as well as COSHH.
- Able to inspire people by leading from the front, with a ‘_come with me’_ style of management as opposed to a ‘_do as I say’ _style.
- Passionate about the success of the Idle Rocks & St Mawes Hotel.
- Infectious personality, warm and welcoming by nature.
**People**
- Able to provide training and development for employees in housekeeping procedures.
- Responsible for Training of COSHH in department (chemicals) and ensure that this is recorded and regularly evaluated.
- Able to foresee and make provision for peaks and troughs in staff levels so that staff levels are always in line with business levels.
- Able to develop and maintain a pool of staff who will help us cover all eventualities.
- Experienced in rota management.
- Value and encourage the team's role in helping good ideas to become good practice.
**Financial**
- To ensure the housekeeping department meets budgeted targets.
- To maintain stock security and control of expenditure is always maintained.
- To ensure all stocks are checked monthly and the monetary values are passed to the Financial Controller.
- Aware of any supplier's cost increases and evaluate them before they come into effect.
**Service & Product**
- To maintain levels of cleanliness and styling that consistently exceeds the expectations of our guests.
- To own and develop the Standard Operational Procedures always set by the hotel.
- To be responsible for the inspection and maintenance of all public areas and bedrooms within the hotels, and ensure the highest standards are met.
- To always manage the storage to a tidy and organised standard.
- Ensuring lost property is kept safely and returned to its owner.
- Ensure all Housekeeping chemical products are always stored safely.
- To work with the laundry to ensure quality of product, variance of stock levels when business demands, control of laundry stock and constant checking of laundry pricing.
- To oversee contractual cleaning when the hotel cannot clean, eg, carpets, upholstery, windows etc.
- Liaising with reception re arrivals, departures, special requests, rooms being returned for arrival guests etc
**General**
- To undertake any reasonable requests made of you by the company including flexibility in hours, location and responsibilities.
- Be willing to help other departments of the hotel wherever possible and to understand the flexibility required when business levels peak and trough, to deliver the best possible service.
- To attend regular Management Meetings
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
