Evolving with the rich opportunities of this environment, the College of Science and Engineering is expanding in order both to enhance the integrity of its disciplinary clusters and ensure these accurately reflect the appositeness of its offer externally. The new Deputy Dean will manage a refreshed team of four Heads of School in a newly configured College SMT poised to deliver STEM solutions to pressing national and global challenges through education, research and knowledge exchange.

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the College of Science and Engineering, Professor Christopher Bussell, the Deputy Dean will work with Heads of School and other members of the College Leadership Team to operationalise strategic objectives, enhancing the student experience and ensuring successful delivery of the College Business Plan.

It is essential that the new Deputy Dean brings a substantial and successful track record of leading within higher education to ensure strategic development in line with institutional goals. They will be able to evidence leadership of cultural change and the implementation of new and innovative approaches to academic delivery, and will be a visible academic in teaching, research and industry engagement.
