Internal Project Communications Student Placement

The post will be based within the Organisation Development and Change Directorate within the Change Team, which leads and supports change projects across the University. It will also support the University Internal Communications Manager (within the Marketing and Advancement Directorate) with delivery of a major strategic project to review and improve the way internal communications are delivered across the institution in the future. We envisage time being spent equally across these two elements of the role.

You will be working in a fast-paced, fun and highly supportive team environment, with professionals from a range of disciplines. Not only will you be able to hone your existing communications skills and experience on a variety of challenging projects and activities, but you will also be able to learn and develop further in programme, project and change management as well as working with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.

Key elements of the placement are:

- 1-year paid full-time internship for a Loughborough University student
- Based in the OD Change Team, but also providing dedicated project support to the Internal Communications Manager (50:50 split).
- Duties within the Change Team will include:

- Post news, blogs, images etc. and make other updates to Strategic, Organisation Development & project websites.
- Help to produce project-related digital content, including video and podcasts, to engage staff, students, and external audiences.
- Assist with the planning, organisation and running of project-related events.
- Write engaging content for project stakeholders (inc. students, staff and external audiences) based on raw content provided by others.
- Support the creation of communications materials to promote Loughborough University Strategy and wider Change Team activity.
- Support Change Team members with project-related communication planning and delivery.
- Duties supporting the Internal Communications Manager will include:

- Joining and contributing to the Internal Communications Review project team
- Delivering assigned work packages and activities within the project
- Supporting communication with and engagement of project stakeholders
